CONGRATULATIONS Fr PETER

Celebrating 25 years in the priesthood. In attendance were 50 priests and two bishops celebrating mass in Our Lady & St Philip Neri church. The mass was well attended and celebrations continued in the church hall afterwards.
As many of you will know, Fr Peter's celebration night was a very enjoyable occasion. After the Special Mass everyone joined in the fabulous celebration in the hall. There was food, food and more food!! Sincere thanks to all who brought food for the party - we knew we could do it! A special 'Thank you' must go to Maria Roberts, Gail Jethwa Ifeoma Stewart and everyone who worked very hard to prepare the hall - thank you also to the Friend's Association of the school for all their help. Invaluable! Here's to the next 25 years.

VIGIL MASS 50YR ANNIVERSARY
A Vigil Mass was held 7th December 2008 to celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the 50 year anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the church. There were several parishioners there that were present at the laying of the stone and they were invited to bring a candle at the offertory in memory of the occasion. After Mass Fr. Peter blessed the new wooden cross on the wall outside, which was donated to the church by a parishioner. Everyone then gathered in the church hall where a fine spread of food had been prepared and was enjoyed by all. A bitterly cold evening didn't deter a large congregation from turning up to celebrate the Vigil Mass and witness the blessing of the new cross at Our Lady and St Philip Neri church.
