Fund
Raising Dance & Buffet
In aid of sending children with kidney transplants from The Evelina Children's
Hospital to the Transplant Games in Edinburgh.
This
is the tenth year of fund raising for Michael and Eileen Gill raising
nearly £40,000 for the British Transplant Games during this time.
Last year, the fund raising dance raised £3,000 alone and they hope
to improve on that amount this year.
The
Evelina Children's Hospital is in the grounds of St. Thomas' Hospital
in Westminster. Evelina is one of ten transplant units in the country.
They hope to bring 25 children to the Transplant Games to be held in Edinburgh.
It costs approximately £600 per child and so this fund raiser was
very much needed. Grainne Walsh and Cathy Gill, both of whom work at Evelina's,
expressed their gratitude to every one who attended and supported the
occasion.

The church
hall of Our Lady & St. Philip Neri was packed with dancing, chatty,
happy people enjoying themselves in the knowledge that it was all in aid
of a worthy cause. The Benn Brothers provided the entertainment, accompanied
by the fine voice of Michael Gill.
And so to the real stars of the night: Millie Young will compete in her
first Transplant Games in Edinburgh whereas the now veteran Ruban Nathan
will be competing for a fifth time! Good luck to the both of them and
to all the other children competing in the Games. VIPs? Very Important
Penguins!
